About me
I was raised in a library in Santa Barbara, CA.
At 12 years old, I decided to become an author, but it took me 14 more years to actually start writing. I studied history as an undergraduate at Berkeley because I love learning about the past, culture, languages, and weird human habits (ancient Romans, they’re just like us!). I lived in Germany, Spain, and Mexico in my 20s and early 30s before moving back to California to teach writing classes and max out my library holds. I have two master’s degrees because your girl loves to learn. One is in reading education and the other is in creative writing.
Since 2024, I’ve been a certified book coach, helping other writers navigate the perfectionism and overwhelm that sometimes accompanies the process of bringing a book forth into the world.
In 2025, I’m writing my second novel, an adventure story set in Gold Rush California.
